Derrick Belts

Proven and Accepted by major oil companies, production operators and drilling contractors throughout the oil fields, Lewis Derrick Belts are constructed of the best grade woven webbing. This rugged material will outwear other materials, yet is easy to clean and stays pliable under changing climatic conditions. All stitches are sewn with heavy-duty dacron thread. Copper rivets are placed at all stress points for reinforcement.

Lewis Snap-on type derrick belts provide two ways of release... through the snap at front or waist, adjusting buckle at the side. Strap adjustments may be made without removing belt. All Lewis belts are of extra strong construction...adjusting holes are fitted with brass eyelets and all types of belts are equipped with drop forged steel fittings.

Lewis Derrick belts are drop tested from 2,000 to 5,000 pounds by independent testing laboratories to check the webbing and construction. Certified results prove that they meet the most exacting specifications of safety engineers.

**Lewis safety belts and tail ropes can now be ordered with "Stainless Steel" reinforcement. Please specify "stainless" when corrosives will be present (i.e. offshore drilling). Special waist sizes available upon request.

This design incorporates all the quality you have come to expect from Lewis, with a trendsetting design for use when a full-arrest body harness is required. Totally cable reinforced, the FAH-1 meets or exceeds both ANSI 10.14 (1991) as well as the new European Community standards

The FAH-3 is a belt with the future in mind. It incorporates an all-nylon construction, along with rugged field proven Lewis hardware. This belt is designed to be the only belt a derrick worker will need for climbing the derrick and working the boards.

The FAH MS & FAH MB belts are furnished with leg straps, and shoulder straps. These belts have the duel D-Ring system utilized for working the racking platform. These belts also come equipped with a D-Ring situated high between the shoulders for a lifeline or deceleration device. The derrick worker is able to use thee belts to climb the rig and work the racking platform.

Type HCB FAH-3 W/T **DISCONTINUED

The HCB FAH-3 W/T is a full arrest harness with a built-in seat. This seat provides an HCB-1 sling seat design, duel D-Rings up front for equalized climbing pressure, and a D-Ring at waist level that provides a well placed leverage point while working on the boards. This belt also comes equipped with a tail. This "tail" provides the user easier access to the locking snap, on the tail rope in use.
